Contracting to operate five branches at once puts all your risk into one decision. Staging reduces it without real delay: you know after one branch what you would have known after five, and at a much lower cost of correction.
What decision do you need to make?
To define an approval portal for each stage: what must be achieved before moving to the next, and who decides. Without these gates, progression turns into open postponement.
Criteria to help you choose
- Phase 1 — Prototype: Limited setup with your real services to test fit before any extensive commitment. Its gateway: Successful acceptance tests on your scenarios.
- Phase Two — One Branch: A complete run in a branch of your choice — neither the biggest nor the most difficult, but the most representative. Its portal: operational stability, actual team use, and a processed feedback list.
- Phase Three — Expansion: Circular to the rest of the branches with proven preparation and a trained team that helps in training others. Its gateway: a generalization plan with stages and officials.
The commercial offer should reflect this arrangement: pricing for each stage, transition terms, and what happens if you decide to stop after the second stage.
List of questions and required evidence
- Is it possible to contract in stages with announced transfer terms?
- What is the cost of each stage separately? Does the total price change gradually?
- What happens if we stop after the first branch? What happens to his data?
- Does the central setting installed in the first branch move as is?
- How long does it take for an additional branch to circulate after the first has stabilized?
Mistakes to avoid before certification
- Select a non-represented branch: An experiment in the smallest branch does not reveal group problems.
- Gates without standards: “We’ll see how it goes” is not an accreditation portal.
- Postponement of central consolidation: The catalog of services and indicators is set centrally from the first stage, otherwise it must be corrected later in each branch.
- Lengthening single branch stage: Six months is enough time to know what you need to know; Longer than that and it loses momentum.
